Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia as a Partner of the „Multicultural Library”
This year, the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia in Krakow had the honor of becoming a Partner of the „Multicultural Library” project. The initiative was created as part of the events of the Multicultural Festival – New Krakowianie. The project was initiated by the Villa Decius Institute of Culture, which invited foreign consulates from Krakow to cooperate.

For the purposes of the project, the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia in Krakow provided publications that were added to the collections of the Krakow Library. The books are intended to introduce readers to the culture, geography and history of Indonesia and take them on a journey around the Indonesian islands. In addition, they will give you a chance to get to know the works of outstanding Indonesian writers who strongly mark their presence on the international literary scene. Books are also supposed to foster the integration of communities living in the neighborhood, they are to provide the possibility of ongoing contact with literature written in minority languages. In turn, Polish-speaking readers will be able to learn about contemporary foreign literature in the original and in translations.

The books were officially handed over to Mr. Stanisław Dziedzic, director of the Krakow Library on December 1, 2020.
